Dr. NI Pengfei，with PhD in economics, is working as research fellow and doctoral supervisor, Director of Center for City and Competitiveness of CASS, Director of the Department of Urban and Real Estate Economics, IFTE, CASS. He is the Vice Secretary General of Chinese Society for Urban Studies, Chinese Urban Development Academy, and China Society of Urban Economy.
Dr. Ni had worked as "Reform and Development of SMEs" project assessment expert by United Nations Development Program. He is the adjunct professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Beijing Normal University, and Chinese University of Hong Kong. He also has been an economic consultant of several city governments such as Chengdu, Xi’an, Dongguan and Taiyuan, etc.
He has published more than 10 academic books and published dozens of papers both at home and abroad. His magnum opus, Chinese Urban Competitiveness Report, received SUN Yefang Economics Award in 2005.
