发表于 baijinlan
Abstract:How does IPR influence technological sophistication of service export? We differentiate real and nominal IPR protection to effectively overcome the measure error of IPR level in the traditional literature. We use the county-level data to examine the relationship among IPR, economic development and technological sophistication of service export. The results are as follows. First, this paper shows that, as for the global sample, there is a “U”-shape relationship between intellectual property protection and the technological sophistication of service export. Second, the research regarding developed countries shows that there exists a positive linear relationship between IPR and technological sophistication of service export, while there is a “U”-shape relation shape in developing countries. Third, per capita GDP, the proportion of service trade, the proportion of goods trade and human capital exert positive effect on technological sophistication of service export. Per capita GDP, the proportion of service trade, and education level exert a stronger effect on technological sophistication of service export in developed countries. Fourth, carbon dioxide and PM10 emissions show a negative impact on the technological sophistication of service export.
