SONG Rui:Time, Income, Leisure and Life Satisfaction: An Empirical Study Based on SEM Model

AbstractBased on the data from Chinese Leisure Survey (2013), this article examines a hypothesized model of relationships among (leisure) time, income, leisure activities participation, and life satisfaction. The results demonstrate that both leisure activities participation and leisure consumption have significantly positive effects on life satisfaction, leisure time and income have positive significantly effects on leisure activities participation and leisure consumption respectively. Comparatively, leisure consumption contributes greater than leisure activities participation to life satisfaction. Consequently, diversified measures should be taken to improve citizens’ income and increase their leisure time in order to enable them enjoy their leisure and the whole life.
