Abstract:This paper selects 15 major provinces(cities) of China including 7, 5 and 3 provinces(cities) of eastern, central and western China respectively, on the basis of the import and export volume accounted for the proportion of GDP, the degree of dependence on foreign trade and foreign trade contribution rate. The empirical results show that the gap is obvious between eastern and central western China from the general change level, while the eastern area rows in the first class; the index is also different in the same region. Therefore, to achieve the goal of transforming China’s regional foreign trade development mode, the eastern region needs to take more efforts while central and western regions should speed up the pace of transformation.
