Abstract: This paper makes a comparative study between "BRICS countries" and the "Next-11" by using the modified FDI Potential Index. The results show that, in recent years, the emerging economies, especially the BRICS countries have a rising attract potential on the foreign direct investment, and the investment structure tends to be optimized. At the same time, emerging economies in the aspects of infrastructure, education and scientific research also have some defects. Finally, this paper gives some suggestions to further enhance the investment potential of emerging economies.
