Abstract: This paper makes an analysis for geographic wage differentials of Shanghai’s workers coming from other provinces based on data of Dynamic Monitoring of the Mobile Population in Shanghai. The data shows that there exists a significant wage gap among the immigrants, even if we control the various individual characters. We choose Henan Province as the benchmark to measure the extent of discrimination. We finally find that discrimination contribute about 30-40 percentages of the total wage differentials.
